Hello, what an adventure life has been since we last sat down and actually had a journal entry.

After dealing with the loss of my vehicle and then finally the recovery... well, it just took alot out of me and I have had no desire to sit and write. Although the writing can induce a theraputic effect for me, I just was not motivated to do so.

My job is wonderful and I have no complaints other than there is an awful lot of goofing off as I like to look at it.
Practical jokes abound, no one really responsible for actions, etc. That type of behavior is fine in a work environment, however I am not a high school student any longer, so a more mature, professional environment is more my cup of tea. So, Im not certain what will become of this.

Everyday is challenging and I still long to return to Indiana. School and continuing my education are on the forefront of my mind when I lay down to sleep at night and immediately when I awaken each day. As far as what I should study or partake in, is another story.

For those of you that read this regularly, any input would be obliged. email your comments to me,

NEW YORK (AP) - The music of pop-jazz chanteuse Norah Jones garnered eight Grammy awards Sunday night, including album and record of the year, capping a year where the sultry singer catapulted from obscurity to international acclaim.

``I feel really blessed and really lucky,'' Jones said after winning the album of the year at the end of the 45th annual awards show.

Jones, who won in every category where she was nominated, tied Lauryn Hill and Alicia Keys for most wins by a female artist in a single night.

As unknown as triple-winner Bruce Springsteen was acclaimed before the last year, Jones won five individual Grammys.

``I never ever thought that the music I made would become popular music, so this is amazing,'' Jones said as she picked up an award for best pop vocal album.

She also won for best female pop vocal, best new artist, best album of the year, and for record of the year for ``Don't Know Why,'' written by Jesse Harris, who won the song of the year Grammy.

Her album, ``Come Away With Me,'' earned best engineered album and producer of the year honors for Arif Mardin.

The 23-year-old New Yorker, who emerged last year after signing with the tiny Blue Note label, sold more than 6 million copies of her debut worldwide. She appeared almost overwhelmed in accepting one award from the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

Harris, who thanked Jones for ``being a pal,'' said backstage that he ``thought for certain Bruce was going to win.''

Springsteen was clearly a favorite of the crowd inside Madison Square Garden as the Grammys returned to New York for the first time in five years. His Sept. 11-inspired ``The Rising'' was honored for male rock vocal, rock album and rock song, although the Boss lost out for album and song of the year.

Performing only a few miles north of ground zero, Springsteen delivered a rousing performance of the title track midway through the show as the crowd screamed, ``Bruuuuce!!"

Later, Springsteen joined Elvis Costello, Little Steven Van Zandt, Dave Grohl and Tony Kanal for a rousing tribute to Joe Strummer - a version of the Clash's ``London Calling.''

The Dixie Chicks, after a bitter legal battle with their label Sony, took best country album among their three Grammys. The trio's multiplatinum ``Home,'' a return to their country roots, was co-produced by member Natalie Maines' father, Lloyd.

``I want to check the record books and see how many fathers and daughters have won Grammys together,'' she said, grabbing her father.

Among the double winners were Eminem, Coldplay, India.Arie and Nelly. Eminem's second Grammy came for best rap album, the third time he's won in the category.

Instead of offering an acceptance speech, Eminem rattled off a list of rappers who had inspired him, including Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G.

``Thank you, because I learned from all of you,'' he said.

Eminem, Jones, Springsteen and Nelly were all nominated for a leading five Grammys apiece, along with perennial Grammy favorite Sheryl Crow, neosoul singer-songwriter Raphael Saadiq, teen rocker Avril Lavigne and R&B newcomer Ashanti. Saadiq, Crow and Ashanti all won one. Lavigne was the only one shut out.

Country singer Alan Jackson, who wrote ``Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)'' in the weeks after the terrorist attacks, won best country song for the mournful tune.

India.Arie, who was nominated for seven Grammys last year but lost them all, finally got her first two, winning for best urban-alternative performance for ``Little Things'' and best R&B album for ``Voyage to India.''

Among the other winners: the previously unheralded Funk Brothers. The groundbreaking house band for Motown Records, the focus of the recent documentary ``Standing in the Shadows of Motown,'' won two trophies.

Some other veteran artists added to bulging trophy cases: bluesman B.B. King won two, for 13 in his career, while Johnny Cash won his 11th and Tony Bennett his 10th - while soul legend Solomon Burke won his first.

``We got a Grammy, baby!'' Burke said as he hoisted his Grammy.

The disc ``Vaughn Williams: A Sea Symphony'' garnered three awards, including best classical album.

The show opened with Dustin Hoffman - one in a revolving series of New York-based hosts - introducing a reunion performance by lifetime achievement award winners Simon and Garfunkel. The pair, who sang ``The Sound of Silence,'' have shared a tumultuous relationship; this was their first performance together in a decade.

Hoffman, before exiting, provided two gaffes. He mispronounced the Boss' name as ``Springstreet,'' and introduced No Doubt by singing ``Say Baby'' - their hit is ``Hey Baby.''

After years of exhaustive research and field work, our language experts have finally determined the most used and single most useful word in the Arabic language. Due to type issues it is difficult to represent in it's true form, , but phonetically it is written as "CKHA". Pronunciation can vary depending on locale within the Arabic world, but in general the sound of the word can be reproduced by clearing the throat, as if trying to extricate a stubborn piece of phlegm. Our language experts have poured over many Arabic texts, including the Muslim holy book, the Q'uoran, and have compiled a comprehensive list of the wide variety of meanings that this word can represent. Here are just a few from that list:

CKHA - Good Evening
CKHA - That is a fine turban you are wearing
CKHA - My camel smells bad
CKHA - My wife smells bad
CKHA - Have you seen my new Mercedes?
CKHA - There is something wrong with this rocket launcher
CKHA - Have another sheep's eyeball, they're delicious
CKHA - Fly the plane into that building over there
CKHA - Where is the detonator?
CKHA - The price is $5,000 a barrel
CKHA - Allah is great
CKHA - Die American pig-dog scum, my death shall be avenged for a thousand years
CKHA - Does this tent come in beige?
CKHA - Hello, I would like to buy some uranium please

WASHINGTON (Feb. 18) - President Bush declared on Tuesday that he wouldn't be deterred by global protests against war with Iraq, saying ``I respectfully disagree'' with those who doubt that Saddam Hussein is a threat to peace.

He said such a war remains a final resort, but ``the risk of doing nothing is even a worse option as far as I'm concerned.''

Amid heavy opposition at the United Nations and protests around the world, the Bush administration faced a decision whether to push ahead with Britain for a new Security Council resolution to support war to disarm Iraq.

Senior Bush advisers are considering whether it was worth risking defeat in the council and how to phrase a new resolution in a bid for support, a U.S. official told The Associated Press.

Bush said that the size of the protests against a possible U.S.-led war against Iraq was irrelevant.

``Size of protest, it's like deciding, 'Well I'm going to decide policy based up on a focus group.' The role of a leader is to decide policy based upon the security - in this case - security of the people.''

Millions of people around the world took to the streets over the weekend to protest such a war.

``Democracy is a beautiful thing,'' Bush said, adding that ``people are allowed to express their opinion.''

``Some in the world don't view Saddam Hussein as a risk to peace,'' he added. ``I respectfully disagree.''

Bush said that Saddam Hussein continued to pose a very real threat to Americans and to the world - a message he pressed in a phone call on Monday to Crown Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, a key ally in the region who has questioned the need for military action in Iraq.

The president expressed confidence that the United States would come up with an acceptable aid package for Turkey, a close U.S. ally in the region who will play a vital role if there is military action against Baghdad.

Bush said Turkey has ``no better friend than the American government'' and that Washington and Ankara were still working out details of an aid package.

The U.S. military plans to use bases in Turkey both for aircraft and for ground forces in the event of an attack on Turkey's neighbor to the south.

Bush indicated that he was running out of patience. Asked if he planned to set an ultimatum for Saddam's compliance, Bush suggested that would be pointless, like extending ``another, another, another last chance.''

``He knows my feelings, and that is, he needs to disarm - completely and totally disarm. He's a fellow that likes to buy time and buy it through deception and delay.''

The global anti-war protests have put the White House on the defensive. Presidential spokesman Ari Fleischer began his daily briefing by reading newspaper clips about demonstrations against the staging of missiles in Germany in the early 1980s, and said, ``This is not the first time there have been mass protests and in a previous instance America stood on principle ... and as a result the Berlin Wall came down.''

He also told reporters that former President Franklin Roosevelt overcame protests from isolationists to lead American into World War II.

``Often the message of protesters is contradicted by history,'' he said.

Next weekend, Bush will meet with a European supporter, Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar of Spain, at the president's ranch in Texas.

I just could NOT resist posting this ~

When I was a kid adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning uphill both ways through year 'round blizards carrying their younger siblings on their backs to their one-room schoolhouse where they maintained a straight-A average despite their full-time after-school job at the local textile mill where they worked for 35 cents an hour just to help keep their family from starving to death!

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But....

Now that I've reached the ripe old age of Thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so fuckin' easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a goddamned Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet -- we wanted to know something, we had to go to the goddamned library and look it up ourselves!

And there was no email! We had to actually write somebody a letter -- with a pen! -- and then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the fuckin' mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

And there were no MP3s or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to go to the goddamned record store and shoplift it yourself! Or we had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the begining and fuck it all up!

You want to hear about hardship? You couldn't just download porn! You had to bribe some homeless dude to buy you a copy of "Hustler" at the 7-11! It was either that or jackoff to the lingere section of the JC Penney catalog! Those were your options!

We didn't have fancy shit like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the the phone rang, you had no idea who it was. It could be your boss, your mom, a collections agent, your drug dealer, you didn't know!!! You just had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

And we didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation videogames with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like "Space Invaders" and "Asteroids" and the graphics sucked ass! Your guy was a little square! You had to use your imagination! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win, the game just kept getting harder and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

When you went to the movie theater there was no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! A tall guy sat in front of you, you were screwed!

And sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 20 channels and there was no onscreen menu! You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on!

And there was no Cartoon Network! You could only get cartoons on Saturday morning... D'ya hear what the fuck I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK, you spoiled little bastards!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled, I swear to God! You guys wouldn't last five minutes back in 1984!

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Feb. 2) - EBay deleted several items billed as debris from the space shuttle Columbia from the online auction site Saturday, warning that anyone attempting to sell fragments from the doomed shuttle could be prosecuted.

EBay spokesman Kevin Pursglove said customer service representatives received a handful of listings throughout the day from people purporting to have found debris in Texas.

The listings were immediately yanked from the site, and executives may report the sellers to federal authorities.

Taking a part of an aircraft involved in an accident is a federal offense, U.S. attorneys in Texas warned, and a conviction could result in up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Debris from the space shuttle was spread over a large swath Texas and Louisiana and residents reported finding chunks of it.

It's unclear what kind of debris was listed on eBay, but Pursglove said that many of the items were likely pranks.

The San Jose-based company has become a barometer of pop culture and current events, with listings such as World Series paraphernalia surging during the baseball championships. But eBay must also deal with morbid postings and attempts to capitalize on human tragedy, and it frequently pulls items.

''Over the years we have learned to keep an eye out for individuals who might want to list items once a tragic event has occurred, the best example being pieces of the World Trade Center and Pentagon,'' Pursglove said, referring to the targets of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

EBay recorded a small increase Saturday in the number of listings for Columbia memorabilia, including coins, mission patches and even one listing for the official vertical stabilizers used in earlier voyages. Collectibles related to NASA's space program are perennially popular, Pursglove said.

The question of whether or not there is a God or truth or reality,
or whatever you like to call it, can never be answered by books,
priests, philosophers, or saviours.
Nobody and nothing can answer the question but you yourself
and that is why you must know yourself.
Immaturity lies only in total ignorance of self.
To understand yourself is the beginning of wisdom.

Well HELLO ! Its been awhile my friends. I so appologize for the delay.
Some of you may know this already and to others this may come as no surprise, I was terminated from my employer.
I was up for a promotion and my forms were kicked back. I called them on it and 2 days later I was gone.
Nice. So here I sit, posting resumes like spam email and porn. I did receive a call from GEICO on Friday, and somehow my resume made it from Arizona to New York. Hmmmm..... my dreams of living in NY may be closer than I thought....
I also applied for unemployment this morning and have submitted a complaint to the Arizona Civil Rights, they were very interested in the story I had shared with them, as well as the documentation and audio tapes which I was fortunate enough to be able to provide in ref. to all the alleged violations of this employer to my civil rights, etc. So wish me luck in my searching endeavors.... I love you all.
talk to you later, ~me

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (Jan. 23) -- Nell Carter, who played the stout, sassy housekeeper on the 1980s sitcom ''Gimme a Break!'' and won a Tony Award in 1978 for her sultry turn in the Broadway musical ''Ain't Misbehavin','' died Thursday at 54.

The singer-actress collapsed in her Beverly Hills home and was found by one of her 13-year-old sons, spokesman Roger Lane said. The cause of death was not immediately known.

Carter had suffered from diabetes for years, Lane said, and she underwent two brain operations in 1992 to fix aneurysms. She recovered and continued to perform, mostly on stage.

At the time of her death, Carter was in rehearsals at a Long Beach theater for ''Raisin,'' a musical version of ''Raisin in the Sun.'' That show was set to run from Feb. 7 to March 9, and is expected to continue with a replacement.

Shashin Desai, co-director of the show with his wife, Karen, said he felt like ''the roof caved in'' when he heard about Carter's death. ''It wasn't for the money that she was doing the show, it was for the passion and love of the piece,'' he said.

Blessed with a big voice and strong stage presence despite her 4-foot-11 height, the heavyset Carter prided herself on her range as a performer, doing musicals and drama as well as comedy.

''She was a pioneer in many ways,'' said fellow Tony winner Audra McDonald. ''She had the ability to be such an incredible comedic musical-theater actress, blow a song all the way to the back of the wall and then come down and be so intimate and beautiful in a ballad.''

In addition to her Tony for ''Ain't Misbehavin,''' Carter received an Emmy in 1982 for a TV broadcast of the show, which was a revue of Fats Waller songs. Her quietly soulful number ''Mean to Me'' was a show highlight.

Carter garnered two more Emmy nominations in 1982 and 1983 for ''Gimme a Break!,'' playing a housekeeper to a family headed by a widower who was the town police chief. The show ran from 1981 to 1987. In 1985, an episode was broadcast live - the first for a situation comedy in nearly 30 years.

Carter also played the cruel orphanage operator Miss Hannigan in the 1997 revival of ''Annie'' and appeared in the movies ''The Grass Harp'' (1995), ''Modern Problems'' (1981) and ''Hair'' (1979).

Carter grew up in Birmingham, Ala., singing in her church choir. She sang on the gospel circuit before moving on to coffeehouses and nightclubs. She longed to sing opera, then aspired to be a belter.

From early in her career until the mid-1980s, Carter struggled with alcohol and drugs, eventually shaking her addictions through a 12-step program.

Carter was married and divorced twice. She is survived by her two sons and a daughter.

Tuesday -

Nice day to hear from friends, Im grateful to know the people that are in my life, or that I have come across over the years. Have still been busy as ususal. Everyone knows the name GEICO right? Well they are sending a call center to Tucson. They will begin by hiring 300 people by the end of this month and will aquire around 1000 before they are operating at capacity. Alot of agents and staff at UPS have already faxed in resumes. I think I will wait, as I just got comfortable and things just seem as they should be. With the coming of GEICO, I may be able to use this loss of our staff to my advantage to move into a position I am more qualified for. Who knows. I will reach for that.

Nice talking to Jeffrey and Stacey and Cliff today. Just wanted to mention that.
Woke up early and started working on the computer, sending photos to West Virginia and Seattle. Radika and Melissa photgraphed well and I did not want to forget to email them the photos I took. While I worked on that Stacey and chatted and I shared some mp3's with her. I think she enjoyed that. I also started saving images into files for the upcoming my photography page, that I hope to unveil soon :) Not sure what to expect but I have heard alot of positive remarks from many people across the US thus far. Its nice to have that kind of response even from people I dont know, who's friends or family have shared these images. So - I will keep on shooting and sharing.

Im guessing Stacey went to lunch, it got kinda quiet in here... I am rambling now, so I will be signing off, time to give Chance the dog a bath, Kira went to the beauty parlor yesterday. She loved it. - talk to you later as the day develops..... ~me

January 05, 2003

Well hi there !
Where should I start ?? What do you want to know ??

Where have I been lately - working, entertaining friends, and resting.... taking a break from the computer for a while, it was long overdue. I hope you can forgive me, by the looks of the counters on the pages it doesnt look like anyone missed much as no one has been visisting anyway.
Last night I went to this model search event at Embassy Suites.... Out of about 400 people they selected 80. I was one of them. It was a fun experience, but I think what bothers me the most is the sneaky way they gather up all of your personal information. Towards the end of the event we learned that the company was in fact not a modeling or talent agency, rather, a photography and marketing company. I was deceived. Not that it hasnt happened before, I just thought I was smarter and wiser about it now. The event was 6.5 hours long. I had to spend $3 to get in the 2nd event. Then a 3 hour interview and discussion group explaining the services.
They wait until the last, and I mean the last statement of the night to announce the cost. $600 due Sunday before the final photo shoot. The $600 covers the photography, the training, the portfolio, and the marketing of your image.
Maybe next time.
So that was yesterday.
Today I went to my photo development studio to pick up my Christmas pictures. They are not in yet!! DAMNIT!
I really want to get these images out to you and distribute to those that requested a copy. They have had my 8 rolls since the 30th of Dec. Thats long enough!!

So- on another note, I have this dilema - why is it that when I meet a man they always take the relation to serious to soon. I wish I could figure that out. Then Im the one feeling guilty or shamed...... thats not right.
Im going to leave it at that.....

I have been trying to quit smoking, I bought that patch, had the house steam cleaned.... and Liz refuses to honor my request to smoke outside. I hate her, she has no respect for anyone not even herself. I will be moving out.
Enough is Enough. Over a year now and no respect. My furniture is being destroyed she eats on it, she writes her bills on the soft wood, she does her nails on them, and spills, leaves soda rings etc. I cant stand it anymore.
When the landlord is ready for us to re new our lease im going month to month. I have to get away from her to save what is left of our friendship. Its been 15 years now, and this is the worst it has ever been.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MEN -
--- that damn phone is ringing and ringing, I cant stand that either. I never call someone 19 times in less than 24 hours.
--- what the hell. I dont know what to do or say, im not the confrontational kind of guy, I say it once nicely and thats it, after that I get mad and shut down. And then thats it, cut off. Then I feel like the bad guy. And then they cry. I hate that. OH what to do what to do.- Stacey your the only one who knows who and what im talking about.
I would never want to post anything that would hurt someone or cause them pain. But over the years its always the same, the other guy always falls for me harder than I fall for him.... Or the attraction just isnt as mutual..
Maybe I'll have to more to write about later....... thanks for stopping by and continuing to support the saga that is my life :) ~ love you all.... me

January 02, 2003

HELLO! and Happy New Year to you all !
What an exciting two weeks it has been. With the arrival of my sister from Seattle, to Emily from South Carolina now sporting a child in the womb. Radika from West Virginia was also here! I can't recall a time when I was soooo busy.
So how was your holiday??
Five Fun Facts is still not complete. The extra 20 minutes to sit down here and work have just not been available. But Monday it will be up, its been a slow go! So much to write about & no idea where to begin.
I spent way to much money the last week or so ! All of my Christmas funds are now depleted.... but It was worth it.

Had company last night, set a beautiful table and had a great New Years Day dinner, Liz and I enjoyed that along with the company of my new friend Ron.

Nothing funny or stupid to say this morning so I appologize for not entertaining you today with something witty.
Talk to you soon ~ me
